The Path that led me to the Bullet Journal: 24 Years of Agendas and Planners

After uploading my first video on my 2020 Bullet Journal Set Up, I got comments telling me it did not look like my first time doing this (speaking of the way I decorated the spreads). That's where I thought I should share my background in journaling, which I have kept in a trunk in the form of 24 agendas and planners.
Opening that trunk was like opening a Nostalgia Treasure Chest, a trip down Memory Lane. My life is in those journals, they're a display of my own personal world. As I went through them I saw myself evolve and grow both as a person and in my creative skills and techniques. It was quite the ride, I might have teared up more than twice.
Sharing the equivalent of 24 years, 8,760 days or a million memories was daunting. I evidently had to choose wisely and filter a lot. This video was about sharing my creativity but personal stuff was all over the place, so I spent some time editing almost a hundred pictures, blurring out names and things that were too personal to share.
Some years show how I was hardcore fan-girling over celebrities. My artwork was devoted to them, which now I found hilarious but hey! they inspired some pretty cool drawings, so in the end it was worth it. Though some bits are kind of embarrassing (my teenage self would reprimand me here), I wanted to share it all to show the creative journey that has now led me to the discovery and the adopting of the bullet journal method, not just as a productivity tool, but as a creative outlet.
So I focused on showing the most colorful and creative spreads, choosing the ones that appeal to me the most. These give away who I am and how I like to express myself through my drawings. I definitely see in all those pages my own personal style which I still must further develop and I'm glad I preserved it on paper so now I can get back to it through bullet journaling.
I feel like I have been drawing all my life so, naturally, creative spreads will be part of my bullet journal. Some say to get better at something you need to practice daily, so incorporating all this decorative details on the pages will also serve to get better at the different and limitless techniques that are available to express myself.
By the end of 2020 I'll be delighted to flip through my journal and see how much better I did and how those pages will speak of me and my artwork. That journal will mark the 25 Silver anniversary of me journaling, something to be celebrated!
We are 3 days away from January and I feel like a racer roaring the car engine to let go of the break and punch that accelerator! I know that my first bullet journal will be life changing, and I think that life changing stuff should be cherished and made beautiful to be remembered for the next 24 years to come, or even more.
